Permission for music

One thing that we need to do is a permission letter to 'Def Jam Records' asking if we can use Rihanna's song skin to feature in our documentary involving Sophie; our interviewee. I therefore drafted the letter and now need to attach the school letter head as well as the address. 

Sunday Filming!

Unfortunately we were unable to film last week Sunday because we forgot the camera and the lack of communication so we filmed this Sunday that just passed where we filmed my friend Sophie for my documentary which included interviewing her with questions in our research sheet as well as filming her dance. This was recorded at YMCA. We reached there at 1 and we didn't start recording until 3 because Sophie was rehearsing for a show and we filmed until about 4:20. Whilst waiting we went around the YMCA checking the facilities and watching some other people dancing some of which were my friends.

Filming

We had the privilege of filming on Tuesday between 12:10-4:10 at oxford street where we had to ask the public questions in relation to our documentary. Throughout the day we reminded each other that we needed to meet at 12:10 at the gate to then leave together. From school we then made our way to oxford street taking a 38 where we got off at Cambridge Circus and walked towards Tottenham Court Road. we then came across the Dominion theatre where we then filmed for our establishing shots.
After filming our establishing shot we then started to walk towards oxford street and stopped outside Marks and Spencer and we set up the camera ready to ask the public questions. At first it was a little slow and some people were resilient but we managed to get some members of public and ask them the questions we needed. 
Overall it was successful and some footage will be used in the documentary...... Hopefully?!?

More Influences

I want to change my body

This is one documentary which inspired my documentary. This documentary focuses more on people's perspective and them filming rather than some professionally performing (POV). Becasue of this we are able to see things in their eyes rather than making things come across as judgemental and being biased. This doucmentary focused on 30 people who were not happy with their bodies and showing their process to achieving that perfect look. As well as filming themselves they also filmed their process e.g. the surgery, after the surgery, to their reaction to how they look and feel etc. Another thing that struck out wsa the segways and the establishing shots, used in the documentary which we thought we would include in terms of filming Anthony (Rower) training and nature in general.

Hoop Dreams

I liked the plot line where 2 boys wanted to succeed which linked with our documentary which was about succeed and lengths people would go to succeed which in hoop dreams was with basketball. i like the ways in which the characters used POV shots, their ways they filmed interviews and also the surroundings as well as voicing in the background.

Filming

Unfortunately I was unable to get Aisha and Kirubel in my documentary but I had an alternative which was Sophie who said she wouldn't mind being in the documentary.
